Также Фишер умеет ловко пользоваться приемом опущения, рождая очень эффективные и очень близкие его натуре моменты черного юмора и иронии (см. в Мести – гибель священника в начале фильма и финальное воскрешение Франкенштейна в Лондоне: в финале Мести барон и Чудовище становятся единым целым, что само по себе является весьма оригинальным поворотом во внутренней тематике мифа).На всем протяжении фильма старое доброе викторианское общество получает наказание по заслугам, в особенности – за слепое и безрассудное сочувствие, которое оно спешит проявить к Франкенштейну, одному из «своих», не удосужившись разобраться, кто он на самом деле. Но возможно, что Франкенштейн, как доктор Джекилл, – своеобразное демоническое порождение этого общества, пропитанного лицемерием и фальшивой любезностью.Во всех 5 фильмах цвет используется не так драматично и пугающе, как в цикле о Дракуле.
